Do you remember what you were doing a year ago?  Luckily for (most of) us, Facebook has this neat feature of reminding us what we posted a year ago on our pages.

Looking at some of these past pictures and events over the last couple days has really made me stop and think about some things….

Do you remember what YOU were dreaming about a year ago?  By this I mean, what were your goals?  Did you have any big aspirations, like a new business or something else really big?

If so, you’re not alone.

One of the problems with looking back a year (or more!) is that it brings back feelings of regret for many of us.  There are so many things that we want to do, want to try, want to experience, but life just seems to get in the way, and many times, our dreams just get pushed to the side.

But stop for a second . . . Do me a favor for just a moment . . . imagine if you will, what your life will be like a year from now if you stay on your same path you’re on right now.

You’ll be one year older, probably still sitting there scrolling your Facebook feed and you’ll see a memory from today, or yesterday even.

One thing’s for certain . . . you’ll be one year older.  But how much closer will you be to your goals?  How much longer will YOUR dreams continue to be pushed aside?

Is that the life YOU really WANT to be living?

We don’t usually think about our lives like this unless it’s in retrospect, and too often then, it’s with regret.  Not regret for the things we did, but rather regret for the things we kept putting off…. For those things we never got around to doing.

Of course, it’s really hard to start something new, especially if it’s a big project or a big dream you’ve always had.  And often it’s pretty scary as well.

In fact, sometimes it’s safer in our own minds to not even try, to not even get started, than get started and risk failing.  In your subconscious mind, you might be thinking if you never start, you’ll never endure the pain of watching your dreams go up in smoke, right?

But the raw truth is . . . this kind of thinking IS what is holding you back.  I mean, thinking that it’s too difficult, or that you might fail, or it’s just too much work right now.

But go back to the memory you’ll be seeing on Facebook feed a year from now.  Will you wish that you would have just stopped dreaming about it and started DOING something about it?  Your future self will think that if you had just started back then when you really wanted to, it might be all done and accomplished already!

On a more personal note, my newest venture, Million Dollar Marketer, was a huge undertaking for me when I started putting it all together 2 years ago.

The inspiration came at a time when I was having health issues and not feeling like doing anything.  Many days I wasn’t even able to think straight because of what they call “brain fog,” and I’m telling you, that’s one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever experienced.

Some days I’d get up and get something to eat and just go back to bed.  (No, not from laziness, but from a longstanding diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia which flares it’s ugly head from time to time.  If you’ve ever experienced this, you know what I mean.)

But I just kept thinking about that ONE day in the future, when I could look back and say, “I did it.”  I did what we now teach in our Mindset Mastery course . . .  I kept the vision of the final outcome in the forefront of my mind, pretty much all the time.

I envisioned the day when I could look back and say, “I’m glad I got started,” even if some days I wasn’t able to do much of anything.

Now, almost 2 years later, I’m really glad I did get started!  My health issues have eased up, and I’m able to work most days (and evenings!) doing the type of research and coordination that a project like this entails.  And I still have the outcome in the forefront of my mind each and every day.

Why am I sharing all this with you now?  It’s because I know for an absolute fact, that if I can do something like this, I know anybody can.  I’m not anybody special.  But I had JUST enough determination which enabled me to create and sell 3 different million dollar businesses, but I certainly wasn’t an expert in any subject.

But what I HAD, that was different from most people was the determination.  It was this determination that kept me going . . .  kept me motivated . . .  kept me pushing forward even when I felt like giving up.

This thing I call “determination?”  It’s one of the traits of the million dollar marketers.  It’s one of the few characteristics that will absolutely determine if you’ll be successful or not.

I think it was Albert Einstein who said, “You never fail until you stop trying,” and I completely 100% believe that.

And, when you’re sitting there a year from now, looking back at your Facebook newsfeed and feeling SO thankful and fortunate that YOU had made the decision to go ahead and get started. . . you’ll know it’s because you made the DECISION to do it, you DECIDED to get that determination, and you DECIDED that nothing was going to stop you.

And if THOSE are the types of decisions YOU make today, you’ll undoubtedly see results a year, maybe two, from now.  I can’t tell you WHEN, but I can tell you without a doubt, you WILL see results.

So, when you decide that FAILURE is not an option. . . .

When you decide that you’ve had ENOUGH of the status quo, and you’re ready for a change. . . .

When you come to the REALIZATION that nothing and nobody can hold you back from your dreams, unless you let them . . .

There will be NO stopping you!

And one year from now, you’ll look at what a difference YOU made in your life because of what you decided TODAY.

So what are you waiting for?

Let’s get started!
